About Lucy VanSwearingen
Photographs are an expression of my heartfelt love of nature, color and texture. Often, I find the "hidden" image in the natural world....a tiny flower, insect or dewdrop can lure me into another world. Other times, I find that the entire landscape is best way to view the world...as in a sunset or a field of flowers.
I also, have a fascination with shapes and textures of rustic buildings and other inanimate objects. An example would be my view of the El Morro fort in San Juan, Puerto Rico (Abstract gallery). My unique perspective of an arch in the fort reveals a different viewpoint illuminating the colors and wonderful textures of centuries of wear.
I have taken both classic and unique views of common creatures and sights, that you should enjoy.
Some subjects are presented in their pristine, natural form. While, I have taken others to new places through the magic of photo editing techniques.
I am a geologist by trade, who was lucky enough to raise horses for many years and have now settled full time into the world of recording all that I see and feel through my images. Although, photography has always been part of my life, the age of digital film has expanded my vision as far as my imagination can take me.
As one, who has whispered many secrets into the ears of my horses.....I have learned to view the world with all my senses. I hope you will share this vision with me, as you wander through my website.
Thank you so much for visiting.
FYI -- I can print up to 13 x 19 archival ink and paper (200 yrs) for $100.00 plus S&H, if you like and sign the print if requested. I usually print my photos with a mat in the photo, so a 13 x 19 can be easily framed without the expense of matting. If you would like this option, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
